CWD-positive deer found in central Wisconsin
The National Vet Lab at Ames, Iowa confirmed the disease in a doe from a Portage County hunting
preserve. This is the first "positive" found at a Wisconsin deer farm since January, 2005.

Retail food prices jump 6.2% in the third
quarter
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau says the price of the 20 items in their Monthly Market Basket survey was $59.02, $3.44 more than the same items in the second
quarter. American Farm Bureau says food prices are 10.5% above a year ago.

Three U.S. processors recall Nicaraguan beef
The frozen beef trimmings were imported and distributed to Wisconsin, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New York. The trimmings were most likely reprocessed and therefore do not carry the Nicaraguan establishment number.
